Bio

Unit 21 started in the fall of 2000. We were all in high school at the time. The original line up was Dave on drums, Kevin on guitar, Chris on bass, and Jimmy on vox. We started the band to get fucked up and to have as much fun as possible! After playing a few local shows here and there and the occasional party, we started to notice more and more kids coming to the shows. So in the fall of 2001 we started playing shows in Dallas and Arlington and really took off! We soon realized we needed a second guitarist to help fill in our sound so we got a friend John Alexander from a local hardcore band called Strength Among Us to play guitar for us. John’s first show with us was on 4/20/02 and we played with the Misfits. after picking up John we started working on a tour in the summer with Jiz and the Jerkoffz, Chris graduated high school in may of 2002 and the next day we left for tour. We played some shows in Oklahoma and a few in Texas. we played with the Lower Class Brats in San Antonio and in Dallas. The tour was somewhat of a success. We came back and started playing more local shows and opened up for D.I., Dead Kennedys, Dickies, Total Chaos, Caustic Christ, Municipal Waste, Blind Society, Lower Class Brats, The Havoc, and started opening for more and more touring bands as our crowd expanded. Somewhere in between playing shows and booking our next tour we lost our singer Jimmy and we got Corey to start singing for us. He was our number one fan and one of our best friends since we were kids so we got him to fill in. In the June of 2003 Dave graduated high school and we did an east coast tour with Jiz and the Jerkoffz. We played Atlanta GA, Richmond VA, Chester NY, Alston MA, Philadelphia PA, and Pittsburgh PA. The tour was the most fun we have ever had. After we returned home we lost John our rhythm guitarist and soon recruited one of our best friends, Jason, who was our driver on the east coast tour to play rhythm. Jason has since parted with the band to persue other things. This is where we currently stand.
