Rent To Own

Bio

Despite the fact their name will make you think that your favorite venue is up for lease, Rent To Own are the newest up and comers to Colorado Springs. This punk/alt-rock/pop band effortlessly incorporates harmony and aggression into a rambunctious mix that is purely infectious. Singing about their friends, music, boredom, and persistence, their songs are loaded with enough addictive melodies, dive-bombing guitars and foot stomping drums that it will soon become your guilty pleasure.

In 2003, guitarist Scott Weis and drummer Omar Jibreen decided to transform their hobbies into something more significant. After a few short months of playing together, while out celebrating Omars birthday, the two were reunited with singer/guitarist and long time friend Brandon Apgar, who had recently moved back to Colorado from Tennessee. They immediately bonded on their passion for music and insisted on a jam session which resulted in early stages of the band you hear today. After several months of playing as a three piece, the trio realized that they could take the band to another level. Enters bassist Chris Clark, who was recruited while answering a flyer at a local music store. All members express a sort of satisfied surprise over how well the line-up works, both musically and interpersonally. Through countless practices and writing sessions the band has developed a unique and entertaining tradition of switching instruments amongst each other. All three front men show their versatility at least twice during shows.

Today, the members of Rent To Own find themselves in a position that only some can enjoy- playing music for the love of music. These days their schedules are filled with recording new material with notable producer Bill Douglass (Royal Recording), showcasing their energetic shows across the Pikes Peak region and building that strong underground following of fans. The plans for the future are simple and clear: not holding any limitations on where their music can take them.
