New Orleans has long been considered the musical Mecca of the world. Its 100-year-old musical legacy has spawned almost every legitimate genre of music. It perpetually reinvents itself and creates new styles of music. Musicians who relocate to New Orleans cannot help but have the city put a new stamp on their music. The members of Morning 40 Federation are no exception. Except for one thing. The members of Morning 40 Federation were not musicians when they moved to New Orleans four years ago. They were just six strangers from different cities who felt a certain affinity towards the Crescent City. Their one common interest? Debauchery. This shared appreciation of good times led them to one another. Late night binges on Decatur St. led to even later night binges at friend’s houses. One such party three years ago prompted the guys to begin singing lyrics and chants about drinking and living in the 9th Ward of New Orleans. Shortly thereafter, the guys decided to learn how to play instruments. |
