The band Illdistortion was formed in the basement of a house in Fort Collins Colorado in the summer of 2003. However, the bands ideals and concepts had been growing from long before. Five Colorado State University students had been aspiring to a style of music that blended the pure adrenaline of metal, the complexity of melodic guitar, and the funk associated with soul and hip hop. These separate elements were composed into something new, something completely different. This was the beginning of their dream. This was the beginning of Illdistortion. The original band started in May of 2003 with Scotty on Vocals and guitar, Jer on drums, Shaner on guitar, Mike on bass, and DJ Uneek behind the tables. It wasnt until after their first official live show, they realized their concept was much more. More talent, more raw energy, and more creativity were needed. They found this in Shaners brother Pierce. He brought his chemistry, energy, and talent to the mix. The brothers found they could create amazing melodies and riffs to match the feel they were looking for. Still, the band wasnt complete. They were missing one element holding up the low end on bass. They needed someone with enough talent to keep up with the Pierce brothers on guitar. They found this in a guy who had moved to Fort Collins looking for a band to play with. They had found Kiel. The slap bass, funk-master he was, fit PERFECT. His ideas and talent not only helped the band get the sound they were looking for, but he also gave a greater sphere of influence that helped the band feel complete. After almost two years of writing, recording, playing shows, re-writing, re-recording, and playing more shows, Illdistortion has become the conceptual band that they originally sought out to be. With enough material, ideas and concepts, they have now begun to wow audiences of all genres. With their energetic live show and amazing creativity, they truly captivate their spectators. But this isnt the level that they are completely satisfied with. Illdistortions ultimate dream and goal, would be to bring their ideas and concept to the masses. They wish to further their dream by becoming professional musicians and doing this not only as a hobby, but as a career.
