Jason Vena 1. What gear do you use? I use a Shure Pcm400 in-ear monitor system so I can hear my voice while I sing into an Audix Om4 that is sitting on a straight black mic stand. 2. Musical influences? I would say The Beatles, U2, Stevie Wonder, Journey, and Eric Clapton. 3. First band you were in? When I was 14 I started a band called Day Zero with some friends from school. We were probably the worst band of all time. I remember playing a basement show for a friend of ours and Christian’s band, Good for Nothing, played as well. There was a bit of a rivalry between the two of us so it’s pretty funny to look back on it. We also played a few shows with All Wound Up which was Kaylan’s band at the time. 4. One reason why you play music? I play music because I believe that it is one of the few forms of expression that can truly change people. 5. What would you do if you weren’t in acceptance? I would probably be producing music or working in artist development. 6. I love playing Anaheim. The people there are very supportive and the shows are always a good time. 7. Worst moment on stage? We played a show in Dallas once and I got hit in the face with a guitar. I thought I had broken something because I couldn’t feel my face at all. Fortunately we were able to finish the show and I was just left with a small cut. 8. One thing you love about the road? Performing. 9. One thing you hate about the road? Being away from loved ones 10. Something people don’t know about you? I am an obsessive compulsive. Everything has to be in order or I start to freak out. I don’t think the other guys like that too much. Music: U2 | |||
