A Future Loss started as nothing more than four guys in a basement with nothing but a will to play music, out of Englewood Colorado. We started off under the name Mushroom Clouds of Faith and with that name, came out with our first and worst basement recording of the CD “Zossima’s Stench.” After getting sick of people thinking we were a drug/hippie/jesus freak band, because of our name, we decided to change it for our soon to be released CD. Weeks of ideas came and went, then we decided on one, A FUTURE LOSS, under that name we released our CD entitled ‘Only One War’. Finally after playing many shows at birthday parties and small-time coffee houses, A Future Loss got its first big show at The Black Widow and became the house band there. Things started to look promising until a minor bump in the road. The lead guitar player, Josh, was going to Japan for a year to study abroad, and while our momentum was building, it would be difficult to replace the one and only Josh Grengs. In perfect timing however, a temporary replacment was found, former bassist of Scars and Stripes, Ryan Hood took the position. With Josh’s return from japan, he came back full force and we are currently recording a new CD at The Helmet R00m. And we have been very fortunate to play shows at venues such as The Black Widow, Cerventes, Garage Land, The Hard Rock Cafe, and even the Ogden Theater! We have played with great local bands such as Call to Arms(rip), Fighter Pilot Lost, 3 Car Monte(rip), Action Shot, Avoid, The Masquerade scene, Last Years Losers and Sexual Jihad(rip)… just to name a few. |
